Mppt Sizing Tool

https://www.victronenergy.com/mppt-calculator

At Mppt Sizing tool
I choose
-360W Mono Victron
-Series 4
-Parallel 6
-System Voltage 48V

It Says
Total pv power: 8640 Watt peak

Calculation Page Advice is SmartSolar MPPT 250/100 MC4
At the specs of 250/100 it says it can handle maximum 5800 Watt

So why the calculation not warning me, about 2840 Watt waste of energy ?
Why doesn't it advice me to use 2 MPPT's ?

When click at the right side to calculations it says Power limiting because of Temperatures but this is not the fact right ?

Am I missing something ?
Thnks.

Hi @heraktitus

It's not well worded, but there should be 2 warnings there for Power Limiting, one for each at high/low Temp. Meaning it's just plain limited.

Then you're expected to work out a combo of multiples yourself.

It hasn't been told about this one yet: https://www.victronenergy.com.au/solar-charge-controllers/smartsolar-mppt-rs-450-tr

Maybe suit you? But it's so new you'll likely have trouble finding one in stock just yet..

A warning should be nice. But I guess this kind of over dimensioning might be interesting when you expect several rainy days in a row for example
