My laptop won't communicate with this system using the VEConfiger 3 software using a VE.Direvt to USB cable connector plugged into the back of the color controller.
The soft ware can't auto detect the com port, does any one have any ideas on this issue please?
This is not the way it works. The VE.direct port at the CCGX is only to connect other VE.direct devices like a MPPT or BMV/SmartShunt not a computer to read out the CCGX.
If you want to read out/configure the MPPT you need VictronConnect and connect your laptop directly to the MPPT.
If you want to read out (and update the firmware) the MultiPlus you need a MK3 Interface and also connect it to the MultiPlus directly.
With internet connection you can do some of that also via the VRM portal.
