Can I connect my MPPT to a power supply?

I have just had my mppt smart solar replaced....many thanks. I have integrated it into my system and wired up in sequence. Will it only show power when pv’s working or can I run a power supply to the mppt. It is dull and cloudy and awaiting some sunshine.
