Isolation Transformer Mounting

Any opinions on whether the Victron isolation transformers, specifically the 3600W, can be installed on their side? I have a customer asking for this orientation given the desired install location on the boat. The manual is ambiguous on this point. I am not super comfortable with this as it seems the design requires a vertical orientation for proper cooling. As a result the cooling fan would effectively be on the side instead of the bottom, heat rises, etc.

Does anyone have more information from Victron on this point? Has anybody installed these in this orientation?

Its like all the units ie multiplus quattro etc etc as you say heat rises. so it better that it flows from bottom to top.

we have mounted many multiplus units on there sides and have had no issues, we do stress that if you are running the unit at its max limits then a extra cooling fan maybe required.

This would also apply to the isolation transformer as well.

the worst that will happen is that if at max load 3600 for a extended period then it may shut down from a over temp condition, so just warn them that a extra thermally controlled fan maybe needed.
