Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC Charger, Yamaha generator EF1000iS.

Hi I own a Yamaha generator EF1000iS, it has the option to charge a 12V car battery via a 12v 8A output. To my understanding this is for emergencies, as the 12V 8A output does not include a pwm or mppt. My question is can I use the Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC Charger 12 | 12 30, to go between the 12V 8A generator out and charge my lead acid battery?

Keep in mind your Genie output is only 8A @ 12V, and your Orion can take 30A @ 12V, You will overload the generator, for me not the best solution, rather look at an AC charger to achieve the same results, (Higher voltage with lower current draw)
