I'm using an Orion 12-24V 20A DC-DC converter and wanting to ensure that the input is reverse polarity protected.
I am using a 40A breaker on the input, is there any internal diode protection in the unit or will i need to add a external diode for this?
@MikeT as with most Victron devices, the technical answer is yes, the device is reverse-polarity protected, but connecting it with reverse polarity will blow the internal reverse-polarity fuse, which is not replaceable, not repairable, and which will not be covered by your product warranty.
Long story short: please be certain that you are correctly connecting the device in the first place and there will be no cause for concern!
