Multiplus 2 - 3 Phase Output

Hey everyone

I have a project coming up requiring on grid battery backup, the load is a 3 phase lift and I have read the documentation and watched the training videos and believe 3 x Victron Multiplus II 5000's will get the job done, I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything or there's any additional information I should know about Multi's and 3 phase backup.

Required:

They are per-phase (415v 3 phase supply.)

-5.5kw per phase
(8.51 amps per phase @ 0.9PF)
(Noting max grid[starting] current is9.82A per phase, which is ~6.4kW @ 0.9PF..)

I have specified

  • 3 x Victron Multiplus !! 5000
  • 2 x BYD B-Box Pro 13
  • 2 x 6KW SMA Tri Powers

Thanks in advance!

Just keep in mind that the Multiplus II 5000 is rated at 5000 continuous at 25C, and derates above that. If the duty cycle on the lift gets high during high temperature you might run into trouble. This video would be worth watching, I found it provided more information about what to expect than the other documentation/trainings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SXtGIx0x5w Look for the bit that talks about startup current of motors

Hello,

Are you sure that this machine needs 5.5kW per phase?

3 phase grid configuration I know consists of 3 phases 230V each (phase to N) and 400V is between phases.

From numbers you provided current draw on one phase is 8.51A and if it is 230V than power draw is 1957W. Not 5500W.

But if it is 5.5kW per phase than Multiplus-II 5000 per phase is to small.
