Max typical voltage difference at charger and BMV

Hi!

I have an installation with a Quattro and four LFP batteries. At the float phase the charger shows 54.01 V which is perfect, the BMV on the other hand shows 54.4. There is probably 0 current flowing and the cable is 50mm2. Can anybody explain the difference? What difference can be considered normal?

thanks

@eliott

The difference may be caused by the drop in voltage on the battery cable.

Extra resistance in the cable length and lug joints can cause the voltage drop. There is no typical reading that I am aware of as every installation is different in that respect. The BMV is usually installed close to the battery so will read a slightly higher voltage.
