VictronConnect app will not see a device because the current firmware is very old (version 1.07) I see the minimum version needs to be 1.09 but I cant find any way to update to 1.09 or later
The serial port sends every second the following data:

Any idea of how to update this device over a serial port?
A BlueSolar MPPT don't have build-in Bluetooth only the SmartSolar have it.
You will need a VE.direct to USB cable or a VE.direct Bluetooth dongle.

For VE.direct products is you should use VictronConnect.
Why should he use the the old software instead of the new one?
That firmware version is quite old, about 7 years I think. Just give it a try after victron connect seems not to work properly. I'd like to think that a VE.direct to USB cable has already been used, of course. @DanielD cable needs galvanic isolation so a normal cable won't work.
@Porcini Thank you for the suggestion, it was a good one but unfortunately VE Power Setup also does not detect the device running v1.07, it does see v1.46 that I also have so the setup is correct.
If both doesn't work and the cable works with other units I have no idea :(. There also was a very old command line tool called "VE.Direct Updater" but I can't find it. It was equal to "5.2" here, only with COM ports instead. I have definitely used that for a version below 1.16
