Solar panel compatability

I have 6 305 watt panels connected in 2, 3 panel sets that are in series, then parallel. My controller is a MPPT 150/85-MC4. I am charging 8 6 volt batteries producing 12 volts. I have the capability to produce 1830 watts. Specs say my controller can only handle 1200 watts @ 12 volts but will handle 2400 watts @ 24 volts.

My question is am I over running my controller?

Can I switch to 24 volts and do you have a step down convertor from 24 v to 12 v that can handle this load?

Or is there a better way?

"My question is am I over running my controller?"
No but you can't use the full power of your solar array.

"Can I switch to 24 volts and do you have a step down convertor from 24 v to 12 v that can handle this load?"
I think it hard to find a DCDC converter with this power and if you find one it is only a converter not a charger.

"Or is there a better way?"
Connect your batteries to 24V and use one or more DCDC converter to supply your loads.
