I have an Isolation Transformer 3600 and a Quattro 8000. When I plug into the mains it takes about an hour for the charger to click in. When I run the genny it clicks in in a matter of seconds. Grateful if somebody could throw a little light on this.

Please run through the procedures of the MultiPlus Generator FAQ to gather more information about what it could be that might be contributing to the long connection time.
Report back with the results of that procedure (the relevant parts that would apply to AC-input, grid or generator).
I would be looking at the AC voltage at the terminals of the Multi after the isolation transformer.
