Ziehl UFR1000E how does it work?

Hi,
I'd like to know more (technically) how the Ziehl UFR1000E works.
How can it detect LOM if the system is exporting current?

And what about if a genset is running, how come it doesn't close the contactor/relay when the frequenzy and voltage is within limits?

The current doesn't flow through the device, so it has no idea in what direction the current is flowing.

Is the Ziehl unit dependent on functions of the quattro/multiplus of some sort?

What differs LOM type A from Type B (technically)?
Why can't one choose Type A when Grid code Other is chosen?

I'm no expert, but it measures things like grid impedance, frequency changes, etc.
