Can a BMV + Venus operate without a VE.Bus or MPPT device

I have someone asking us to validate whether their non-Victron charger/inverter is treating the batteries well. All I could think of was strapping on a BMV-702 with temperature sensor and plumbing that into a Venus device (maybe a VenusPi) to log the battery data to VRM for a period.

Will the BMV work with Venus and VRM without having a Phoenix or Multi or Quattro or MPPT in the mix?

Hi @warwick, yes that will work. I have done it before to do some DC logging. Of course, once the client see all the nice VRM features, he’s gonna want to upgrade!
