Hi all,

can some explain the different between this two devices please ?

The compact has a battery fuse built in, not sure if this is the only difference

My compact came with 1.5m of 35mm battery cable.

The compact is the older model with aluminium case, the new one has a plastic case.

The new model has all connections on the outside but no DC-wires attached.

@Murraynated the new one also has a fuse inside.

Meh, I have one in my house, compact 2K - thats how I know the compact had a fuse

Are there any differences in terms of parameter settings?

(a) the bits of hardware we need to set up the system and adjust it
(b) the range of adjustments possible?

As I can see the max. power was degrated to 2800W compared to the 3000W of the compact? Why? Also the 40°C value was set down from 1200W to 1100W.

And the remote contact for "charger only" is missing! Why?

Also don't like the new terminals. Looks like a downgrade to me, a multi lite!

Is there anything which is better now except the price?

That unit has been so good for decades ... can't understand that.

Can both be added to my victron connect app to talk to my solar converter and other victron bluetooth products?

How does this work? I now have ordered the BMV 712 with bluetooth, 75-15 MPPT with bluetooth, Multiplus C 12/1600/70, and Orion DC-DC 12-12/30. Can I also do this without GX and with some bluetooth dongle or directly to the BMV?
