BMV700 have a consumption of 3,7A

Hi,

i have have a easysolar 24/3000 with 4x 12V/100 Ah AGM Batteries.

Now I added a BMV700 and it has a consumption of 3,7A/100W.

I disconnected everything else from the batteries and its the same consumption.

I also measured the voltage with a multimeter and noticed a voltage loss.

There is no voltage loss wen i disconnect the headunit from the bmv700.

Is the bmv broken?

Please could you show us a diagram of your wiring.
If the BMV was taking 100W it would be getting very hot indeed. Is it getting hot? Also, there is an inline fuse and this would go open circuit, so this would be almost impossible to achieve.

It can be possible for there to be an offset when initially installing a BMV, use the zero current calibration when you are absolutely sure that all loads are disconnected and zero current is flowing through the shunt.
It's menu option 09 if I remember correctly.
