Battery charge rate only 90 %

In my boat I have an Centaur 12/20 to keep my two batteries fit and ready.

My battery for engine start is a normal lead acid (60ah), and my battery for consumption is a brand new AGM (95ah).

I have a battery monitor (NASA Clipper BM2) to monitor my AGM battery and it seems like it never get charged 100 %, more like 90-94%.

I know, that the charger has different jumper settings for the right kind of battery.

After talking to the dealer about my setup, I was advised to leave the jumpers in the lead/acid mode - is that the root to my problem?

Would it be better to set the jumpers for AGM, or wouldn’t that leave my startbattery with a too low charge voltage ??

Or is the only solution to by an AGM battery for engine start as well?

Thanks for advice

Hi, there are two things to check: proper configuration & operation of the charger.

And two, configuration and operation of the monitor.

In case you had a victron battery monitor, I’d recommend to watch our youtube video on synchronization.

Hope that helps!
