does MPPT get hotter than PWM

I have serious space issues for installing new MPPT controller. Previously had a TS-45 PWM that did not get that hot in confined space below sofa. What about a MPPT 100/50. Does it get that much hotter with 2 200A panels in series? No place else to mount other than immediately next to the 2 12V 100A lithium and inverter below the sofa.

@bobkat4

The mppt instructions say to install it on a non flammable surface.

It will get warm but since you aren't over paneled not too hot, will it be vertical at least for optimal cooling?

yes, it is mounted on aluminum sheeting, behind and above, with fins vertical. Thanks for your input. have specified clearance top and bottom, but it is in enclosure, and could add CPU fans.
