Paralleling of multiplus 2 3000/48

Good morning,

I have an installation in operation with PV, MPPT, Batteries and a Multiplus 2 3000/48.

Wishing to increase the wave power, I bought another new multiplus 2 3000/48.

I would like to put them in parallel following the instructions you give (identical firmware etc.)
Both models are type: PMP482305010

The one in service has the SN: 2025T6MVVP

The one I bought has SN: 22389M4RF

Are these two multiplus 2 3000/48 devices compatible for parallel operation?

Sincerely,

Philip

hi there should be HW revision sticker on them or on the box it came in

HW revision number should be the same, if not ask your supplier if they can check the serials if they can work in parallel

Inverters don't have revision numbers on them.

Those two are 2 years apart and a few years old already, some major changes were made some time around 2022.

Use the newer one as master, they should work ok, but systems that have been in use for so long often don't balance well.

It is usually not a great idea to pair systems if one is already 4 years old.

You have them already, so may as well try.

Just looked at mine again. Don’t see any.

If it isn’t reported on vrm, it usually isn’t on a sticker.

They all have the exact same hardware ID.

hardware revision is the difference between main pcb's inside the inverter.

you can't see the hardware revision number in VRM

The point is, you cannot tell externally or from the sticker on the outside. So for most people who don't want to dig around inside, your only reference is the date of manufacture.

Even then, it isn't publicised when power-packs change, and when they do it isn't guaranteed that it won't work together.

There is no guidance about different "revisions".

Where they are known not to pair well, repair centers are usually aware and there is a program to deal with mismatched systems that fall within a suitable date range for upgrading.

The OP has somewhat old inverters.

Personally I would not try mate a 4-year old inverter to a newer model.
