MultiPlus Compact 12 | 500 | 20 - early failure

Using the MultiPlus on a small scale Solar installation.

Configured in inverter mode only - operating with 12V (nominal) battery input and AC output to run LED lighting.

It's been operating for 4 months without problem.

The unit then failed. There isn't any LED indication or AC output.

The unit has been left switched off for 30 minutes in an attempt to 'reset' it but is still unresponsive.

The internal fuse is intact and the manual doesn't suggest there is a user replaceable fuse in the enclosure.

I am very disappointed with this early failure. And espectially given the unit isn't operating anywhere close to it's rated maximum power output or on a continuous basis.

Are there any more diagnostic steps that can be run or is this a write-off of almost new equipment?

So the in-warranty replacement unit has been running since August 2019 but has failed now in exactly the same way as the original unit.

The unit is completely unresponsive.

Battery = 12.5VDC

Mains present and within specification

No LED indications and no output.

Internal fuse is OK

Hi @awmorgan,

Alas, it sometimes happens.

If you suspect the unit has failed, you should immediately get in touch with your supplier to begin the next steps for remedy.

https://ve3.nl/help

They will have some specific questions for you about the installation, and further things to test, eg a multimeter on the battery connection points of the inverter.

I did begin work on a basic troubleshooting guide, you may wish to look, though it is not exhaustive yet:

While it is inconvenient, if the equipment has failed you are covered by the 5 year warranty.
