Why doen't the Multi II maximize charging batteries from my generator?

Multiplus II 3000/120/50, Cerbo Gx w/touch screen, Lynx Smart shunt, Lynx Dist, 2 Orions 12/30, Mppt, 3 SFK batteries 280ah EA 200amp internal BMS, Onan 2800 generator.

When I run the generator without the air conditioner the Cerbo GX shows about 1300 watts from the generator, but when start the AC, the Cerbo GX shows about 2400w coming from the generator. Why doesn't the system use the full 2400w to charge the batteries? Is this normal or do I need to tweak something to get to it's full potential. Btw, this is an all new installation, except for the generator.

Your multiplus can only charge with max 120A thats 120 time batteryvoltage. It's around 1500W on a 12V system. At the same time when your ac is running, it gets the power from the generator.

It is perfecly normal.

I knew the max was 120a, can't believe that didn't dawn on me earlier. Thanks.
