I bought a BMV-712 to replace my old trailer battery monitor as part of a full electrical upgrade to Victron. I can't get access to run a new control cable for the BMV, so I want to use the old inverter control cable that runs through the walls. I'm hoping to adapt the current 4-pin RJ connector to the 6-pin.
Does anyone know if this is possible? Here is the picture of the original smaller 4-pin connector (left) and the RJ12 cable that Victron provides. I read that RJ11 is backward compatible with RJ12 cables, but I'm guessing it won't work in this case. Hoping I'm wrong...
