12v on a narrowboat with dual quattro 12/5000

I'm looking provide more power by having 2 quattro 12/5000, to give 12/10000 approx 8500w I hope, wired in parallel looking for info on how they would be physically cabled.

Inputs: Shore Power, Solar, Battery Bank (4 x 460ah 12v LiFePo4 batteries)

hi @flirble1974 at 12 volts that’s a lot of load for a boat. Sure you can do it but the potential for problems such as heat build up, loose connections, efficiency loses etc and potential overload/meltdown/fire, compared to say an ideal environment, is considerable. My personal view is that boats need a much higher safety margin than this allows for. If you need that much power perhaps consider moving to at least 24, or possibly 48, volts.

Hi, understand the concern we are where we are as 48v is simply not practical for us, the budget does not stretch to going hybrid engine or adding a generator or providing for charging from engine - which we would need to be able to do - as such 12v is where we sit - the need is to allow for head room and and to ensure we aren't running at max capacity frequently. The battery bank is deep and our expectation is that we will largely be wintering in a home marina mooring but spending spring/summer/autumn cruising the waterways when solar is good.
