VE.Bus Error 11: Relay test fault in Multiplus II

The LCD display on the MultiPlus II indicates "ESS OFF," and the VRM application reports error code 11 as "Relay test fault." It's important to note that the MultiPlus II firmware has been updated, but the issue remains unresolved. Additionally, even with the load disconnected, the fault persists.

Thank you for your consideration.

Did you go through the troubleshooting described here?

https://www.victronenergy.com/live/ve.bus:ve.bus_error_codes#error_11_-_relay_test_fault_-_installation_error_or_possibly_relay_failure

It's most likely an installation error.

You say "even with the load disconnected", did you disconnected the wires from the AC Out terminals?

@SAAD GHEOUANY

Error 11 has quite a few troubshooting steps.

Firmware is step 1. The rest of the steps are wiring related.

You will need to work through the rest of the guide here.

Thank you for your prompt reply,

No, we did not disconnect the wires; only the load is not connected to the socket.

Is there an internal fuse in the MultiPlus-II unit for the DC bus? We had a circuit breaker placed on the DC bus, which tripped, and since then, the MultiPlus-II has been in the "ESS OFF" state.

The ESS off state is because it wont allow ESS in the fault state. So not the cause of the issue.

What is the step that the error is failing at?

MultiPlus → Alarm Status → VE.Bus Error 11 report.

You might have to set to stand alone and test each unit individually.

No internal fuse that i know of that is user replaceable. Error 11 is AC not DC related

Hello again,

Following is the detailed information about the problem :

  • AC outputs are disconnected (AC output voltages 1 and 2 are zero).
  • The battery voltage is 57.8 V (nominal battery voltage is 48 V).
  • Battery fully charged.
  • Multiplus indicates "ESS fault", "VE bus error 11" and "AC disconnected".

What step is it failing at? You can find it in the GX.

If you reset to factory and stand alone does it solve the issue?

Steps are outlined in the manual linked.

If you are unable to solve the issue, then you need to return them for a warranty check.

This is the last step outlines in the manual linked.

The issue was resolved by changing the phase and neutral position of the grid network, but we remain uncertain as to the root cause of this issue.

It is in the manual.

The wiring has to be correct.

The phase and neutral cannot be mixed.

Neutral earth bond must be solid.
