img-7722.jpg

This is brand name 6/3 triplex wire, which is manual spec to handle power assist loads.

The strain relief does not fit.

What am I doing wrong?

12V

The manual specs 6/3 wire. So, ... wire size is correct.

Try paring back that outer sheath so the individual cables can lay flat. They're the ones you want to clamp, not the whole assembly.

The cables do not fit into the bottom hole opening if flat.

They also do not fit flat into the strain relief. The strain relief is only wide enough for two of them.

If flat, the cables span the entire width of the strain relief including the nut and bolts.

Try arranging the wires so that the middle wire sits on top of the other two wires.

Like this, when viewed from the bottom of the inverter:

   X     X
   | O |
   |O   O|

X - nut
O - wire
