Orion-tr smart 12/12 30 h pin wiring

I have just purchased the dc to dc charger. I have a solar panel with controller that keeps triggering the smart controller. Can I use a + (running) feed on the h pin to initiate the Orion smart unit?

Interesting. Do you have the solar controller somehow wired to the input side of the DCDC charger?

Yep; this is shown in Diagram B on page 5 of the user manual.
