Since batteries are getting cheaper, I thinking about to expand my 10kW PV system bei SMA STP8.0 and SHM2.0 SmartMeter.
Regarding battery storage I'm a kind of rookie.
So, for e.g. a Pylontech US3000 C 48V battery, what kind of Inverter from Victron I need?
I think 3 phases are necessary (which one?) and it has to communicate with SHM2.0 (by Modbus?) and STP8.0, so is the GX series absolutely needed in my case?

Hello, Victron provide modular system so you will need three inverters to get 3-phase system. As far SMA meter is not in supported energy meters page I assume you will need another meter. Suggest that you contact local dealer who can support you with the request as there is many different ways to achieve system you are looking for. https://www.victronenergy.com/accessories/energy-meter
In example if you need possibility to collect sun energy during grid outage you need at least same power VE inverters to be able to control your PV-inverter. And in case you have back up generator you may want to look Quattro inverters. Any case to succeed with advanced power generation and storage you need Victron GX-device to work as controller. That can be built in also in some model of inverters.

I have most load on Phase1 very less on Phase2 and 3.
Could I combine for 3 phases:
1x MultiPlus-II 48/3000 GX and 2x Multiplus 48/800/9-16 with Pylontech US3000 C
to have a 3 phase off grid function just for the case and control of SMA STP and SHM?
What is when during ESS the needed current of one phase is over the delivered current of an inverter? Will it switch complete to grid or just this one phase to grid?
To I need for this constellation this Cerbo-GX or isn't it mandatory?
