DVCC charge limit

Hello,

I have AC coupled and DC Coupled solar panels. (AC monitored with ET112)

4 x MPTT 250/85 on the DC side.

Multiplus 5000/24,

All connecting with VE can.

I have the charge limit set to 30a on the color control.

Not sure why I have a charge of 60a.

Many thanks,

Rich

Hi Mark.

My ac coupled pv connects to my cu after the et112.

The grid comes direct in to the multi and then out of the multi into the cu.

Once the batteries are in absorption the ac pv does feed into the grid.

Many thanks.

Rich

Hi,

after doing some testing Alexandra is right the batteries are getting 30a from the AC coupled and 30a from the DC side of things.

Not sure if this is a bug in the software or is the system is working correctly.

My AC PV feeds in on the output of the multi.

Cheers,

Rich

@Richie Gorrod

It could be that because o some misconfiguration the MP does not know about the MPPT chargers and you get CCL limit applied by MP and MPTTs at the same time.

Yep, it only seems to limit the charge rate from the inverter. Ie the feed from the grid. Any surplus from the MPPT is then additional.

The BMS should signal the max charge current in total or I guess further settings in the mppt/quattro. The only way I could set a determined battery charge in order to say average the exported energy in the day was to have a loop in node red that set the max voltage in dvcc and increased it/decreased it by a small amount each 5 seconds in order to maintain the set charge rate.

Is DC feed-in enabled ? If so that parameter is ignored.

All documented in the guide.

In your picture you are probably charging 30A from grid charge (AC PV) and then also 30A from the DC mppts.

ok thanks.

So the multi only controls the dc side of things.

It should control AC and DC side.

In mine does.

The only difference in my system is that my Fronius is on AC-IN side of MP-II.

The question is why your PV inverter is not feeding the grid. If for some external reason it cannot, its energy will go into the battery regardless of the DVCC CCL settings.

All sorted. I forgot I had a charge assistant installed in the multi. It was to stop the charging of the agm cells if became out of balance.

Removed and all working as expected

Many thanks for everyone’s help
