Rpi backlight v3.00~39 RPi 3B+ missing"

Experimenting with v3.00~37/v3.00~39 with a generic 5" HDMI touchscreen (Kedei KD050V01). It appears the kernel-module-rpi-backlight is missing from the opkg repository,

opkg update
opkg install kernel-module-rpi-backlight
    No packages installed or removed.

Also, the /sys/class/backlight directory is missing.

Has this changed with v3.00? What are the current backlight modules and instructions for installing?

Same issue with v2.00~94 large.
