Multiplus 24 3000 over charging

Hi multiplus 3000 in yacht from new. Currently have new Yuasa dcb batteries 240ah, 2 banks of 4. This happened with prev battery bank also. When back into marina and re connected to shower power and charger turned on about 4 to 6 hours later co2 alarm goes off. I believe this is activated by the batteries gassing. If in the vicinity of the batteries at this time there is a smell. When we looked at the dim switches on the charger all are set to off. We are wondering if number 5 dim switch which relates to Adaptive charging were turned on might the charger sense the batteries state of charge and not overcharge?

Please go easy I'm clueless when it comes to electrics

As Boekel say please get a Victron Installer to check your system and adjust if needed

Hi, As everyone says have an installer check your set up.

The dip switch position is more or less meaningless as it could and should have been programmed with ve.configue and a mk3 device.

Some things that could be wrong

1. Battery capacity too small

2. Voltage settings incorrect

3 charge current set too high.

Your batteries should charge at 2c at 48 amps. A multi 3000 is significantly higher than that out of the box
