How to safely connect standard 6/3-8/1 awg boat cable to multiplus 2 3kva?

1.

The cable entry is not big enough to feed the cable into the multiplus2.

Any ideas on how to fix this in a safe and acceptable manner?

2.

Is it safe to insert the finestranded boat cable into the spring loaded terminal?

To insert fine stranded wire first give a little twist to the bare wire and ensure that there are no stray strands. Insert a small screwdriver into the connector release socket to open the spring loaded connector, insert the wire, then remove the screwdriver.

The cable entry is not big enough to feed the cable into the multiplus2.

Are you having trouble feeding the cable through the grommet?

The manual mentions to use a ferrule.
