Multi PowerAssist minimum input - what actually happens when you set it lower?

Hi,

I have a 230V Multi Compact 12/2000/80/30 that has a minimum input current when using PowerAssist listed at 4.5A on the professional pages (not sure why this model is higher than the other 12/2000 model which is 2.4A?).

The generator I would like to use with it is a Honda EU10i that has a rated maximum of 3.9A and an intermittent maximum of 4.3A.

So what actually happens if I set a current limit of say 3.5A using VEConfig, will the Multi ignore the setting and use 4.5A, or will it attempt to limit to 3.5A but perhaps be unstable?

Thanks! Guy.

A 240v multi will have approx 1/2 the input current limit of a 120v multi.

What ac voltage multi do you have?

You can't set it below the minimum, it will just jump back to the minimum if you try do that.

Thanks, I haven't actually tried it on the 12/2000/80/30, but when I tried the setting on a 24/3000/70/32 just to see what happened it allowed me to set any value down to 1A. I wasn't able to test run it though as it was for another application.
