what will happen to the Mulitplus or the SmartSolar Charger, it a smart BMS of a 12V LiFePO4 Batterie ( in my case from Renogy) will enter the protection mode and open its relais? With an other Inverter and solarcharger i got a damaged inverter finally......
How is the SmartSolar Charger and the Multiplus protected against such Loaddumps ?
According to Victron the MPPT won't be damaged by this but there will be a voltage spike (overshoot) on the output side of it - possibly endangering other devices. Quite a lot of 12V devices are only designed to withstand max voltages of around 15V, but the spike can be as high as 17 or even 18V for a second or two (and in electronics seconds are ages :-)). Search for "mppt voltage overshoot" and "bms disconnect" - some people have posted diagrams of this happening.
