ESS w/ Generator, ESS w/ floating phase

In the docs it says the Generator is connected on input 1 and the grid on input 2. Is this a limitation that can be changed?

Is ESS compatible with systems that are setup with phase floating w/ return to original phase?

You can change the inputs in VRM, the limitation is that on a low battery event, the inverter can only start when powered from AC-in 1 (if there are no other devices to charge the battery directly)

What exactly do you mean with phase floating etc?

In the VE.BUS system configurator, you choose single phase or multi phase, and your phase relationship (180 degrees, 120 degrees, etc)

One of the options is "L2 floating with return to original phase"

Can this be used in an ESS system to connect a generator with a 180 degree phase relationship, temporarily, to a system that normally runs with a 120 degree phase relationship?

I presume this would cause the PV inverters to reject the AC and disconnect from it. But that could be ok, the generator just needs to run for a couple hours to charge the batteries back up. Generator runtime could be limited to during the night for this.

No, this is not possible in an ESS system.
