SmartSolar 150/100 Volts, No Amps, Battery Drained to 0

Hello,

New to the community. Full Victron install, 600 ah of Lithium, 1440 watts of solar, Multiplus 3000 inverter. 12V system. Everything has worked great for a couple months. 6 days ago I stopped getting amps from the panels. Nothing changed. Battery died over the course of 5 days powering my mifi in storage.
Temps were good. At night I can access the charge controller so I know that the controller is connected to the battery and seeing the voltage. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks!

This has been an issue that some MPPT users have experienced in the past few days. Some has put is down to a sudden appearance of a Temperature status in the seen in the Victron Connect App. You can try disabling the temperature status and try again.

here is youtube link of the simlair issue. https://youtu.be/Dk6pYFpfmm0

Thanks. The model number is

SCC115110412 Victron Energy, SCC115110412, SmartSolar MPPT 150/100-Tr VE.Can (12/24V)

I shut off the battery switch left the trailer in storage and am back home now.

The controller is connected to the Cerbo GX if that is what you mean by remote.

I don't have the detailed information from the controller in a picture but I realized something strange now that I think about it. The days prior to the last day things looked fine. 4 ish hours of bulk, 30 mins of absorption and then about 2-4 hours of float. On the last day of operation in the bar graph it said 10+ hours of Bulk and no absorption or float. It was almost like it got stuck on Bulk.

I will go back tomorrow and try and get more information.

The remote port is in the bottom of the mppt. It must have the jumper in place (or other arrangement) for the mppt to charge.

If you are using the CAN bus, you will need terminators at each end.

Thanks to all that responded. I shut off the main battery switch last night and this afternoon I returned and re-energized the system. The Solar Charge Controller started working right away. I did watch the video above and it was very entertaining. ;-) I verified that I had to current firmware. Not sure what ended up locking the Solar Controller in Bulk for 10 hours but not accepting amps about half way through the day and then not working for multiple days. I have attached some pictures to show what happened and the current condition.

I am not ruling out some sort of temp issue but I never saw -1C or anything below 5C in the status screen when it wasn't working.

Will keep an eye out for it and come back to this thread if the issue returns.

Thanks Again!

Your history does show 2 problems, other than the fail to charge.

Your battery max voltage (when it has been fully charged) is different every day. With lithium settings and temp compensation turned off, the battery max voltage (when it has been fully charged) should be the same every day.

Is the mppt set up to charge lithium batteries?

"Today's" history shows the mppt going into absorption? PV yield of 670 Wh is not enough to get those batteries near fully charged.

Did the multi help?

Yeah. Good catch. I actually don't fully charge the batteries on Solar during storage. Buik is at 13.8 and float set at 13.5. Gives me about an 80% charge on average. When I am using the camper its set between 14.2 and 14.4 and 13.8 respectively. Once a month I fully charge the batteries. Trying to extend the life of the batteries. But who knows... I forgot to add... I was running my Honda eu2000i as well during the recharge. I can only get about 90ish charging amps out of it because its only 13.3 max amps. The solar made up the difference to get to around 110-120 charging amps which is max for my batteries. Solar went into absorption mode earlier because of the settings. The max voltage on the screenshots above were constantly decreasing because there was a 58 watt load on the system as a whole and since there was no solar replenishing the used power it went until it died and everything shutdown yesterday.

Did some digging... Seems that the shutdown was temperature related.... Somehow it defaulted to 30.2 degrees instead of the system battery temp... and once I shut everything down and restarted everything it reset it self. See below.
