SmartSolar 250/100 switching off temporarily

Hello. following System: 3 x Multiplus 24/5000/120-100, Acid battery PZs with 24 V and 1550 Ah, battery Monitor BMV-700, 2 x SmartSolar Charger MPPT 250/100 and a Color Control GX. On the first Solar Charger are solar Panels with a maximum voltage of 120 Volt and 2010 Wp, on the other SolarCharge are solar Panels with 2680 Wp and a maximum Voltage of 160 Volt. Sometimes, without any reason the second Charger with 2680 Wp is switching off. Then I have do reset the hole System and then it is running sometimes for two or three days, sometimes only for a few minutes. Has anyone a Question where is the reason for this behavior.
Thank you and greetings from Linz - Austria

Klaus

Can you show the MPPT state time history in VRM? Also, battery current and voltage.

What firmware version are the MPPT running?

Sorry for the late answer. Since I´ve updated the SmartSolar 250/100 to the firmware v1.49 this strange behaviour has gone.

thanks for your support.

Hello, since today the solarcharger has the same strange behavior again. I don´t know why, because nothing was changed in the System. Iam going to upload photos.

Greetings Klaus

Hello @koro,

Without being intimately familiar with your setup, I will make the following suggestions:

1. Ensure that all MPPTs are running the current FW (1.50)

2. Ensure that your GX device is running the current stable OS (2.53)

3. Ensure that your MultiPlus FW is up-to-date and, at the same time, that your ESS Assistants are also fully updated.

Once every device on the system has been concurrently updated to the current official, stable release (ie, no running of beta OS or FWs), restart your system and see if the issue persists.

If the issue does persist, please

1. Report back to us with a complete list of the OS/FW versions of all of your devices, and

2. Just as a matter of curiosity, try powering down the second MPPT (the one behaving normally) and seeing if this has any effect on the behavior of the first MPPT.

First and foremost, however, is to get your entire system and all associated components up-to-date (again, it is very important that all running versions be the current official release, no beta versions), as without a solid and dependable software base to go on, it's difficult to troubleshoot further.
