Is there an MPPT failure mode that could short PV to battery?

Aware of this post, but it's not definitive.

Can anyone from Victron state conclusive that there's no way for a Victron MPPT failure to result in PV direct short to battery?

I'm not talking about a secondary event like a lightning strike or installation error. I'm talking about a failure of a normally operating unit that was installed properly and not subjected to any external event.
