Acrid smell from new Quattros

I have a brand new Quattro 10kVA 120v (on a test bench and I am getting a very acrid smell (like capacitors burning off electrolyte) that is gets worse with time. The smell is terrible. I have shut it off and am very concerned about safety.

Current test bench setup:

  • AC1 in - connected to AC
  • AC1 out - small load
  • Battery connection - 1x 48v E-Box 48100r rack mount battery
  • VE.bus - Cerbo GX

The only change from the stock configuration is that I changed the following:

  • AC1 input current limit = 10a
  • DC charge limit = 5a

Other than that it is using the stock settings.

When it is running I hear a buzz on battery charge, but seems to charge fine.

Other than that, the unit works perfectly. I had thought it was related to 1 unit, but I have switched out to a second new Quattro and am getting the same smell start to develop after about 10 hours. I have unplugged and shutoff everything and am wondering where to go next.

Thanks!
