Damage to Multiplus due to reverse polarity input

Hi,

I noticed in the manual for the Multiplus that it states reverse polarity would be damaging to the unit ("Reverse polarity on these is a fatal error that will destroy the unit"). Generally people seem to use a mains plug tested to check for reverse polarity and then use an adapter hookup wire to reverse it back if if needed. However, to do that would mean the reverse polarity input has already gone through the Multiplus....is this an issue and if so, whats the best way around it?

Hi Mike,

Don't worry, the reverse polarity is for the DC side (batteries connection) on the AC side the inverter won't even complain if it is a single phase installation.

Does the Multi pass it through? I mean if we have reverse polarity on the input side, is the output side on the Multi effected? Does it "correct" or swap the N and L?

The output will be reversed too

Hello there,

if you want to use the Inverter in a power mode, so when half of the Energy comes from the grid and the other half from the batteries, is the battery also effected? So is the battery limiting the AC Out?
