BVM712 amps in use totally inaccurate. On my 2nd one

Hello! I have a BVM712 connected to a 170ah 12v battery in a small camper. With everything hard disconnected by a master switch, it will show an amp draw bouncing between 5-10 amps.

I had a problem with this a year ago and swapped out the shunt with a new one. Amp usage was accurate after, validating with a multimeter. After another year, it's doing the same thing.

Anyone else experienced this issue? TIA

Up to 8 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 190.8 MiB each and 286.6 MiB total.

Hi,

This is usually due to a wiring issue.

Can you please post a complete system wiring diagram, and some photos of the installation?

The most common mis-wiring is when there is a link from the battery negative to the metal chassis, this bypasses the shunt and leads to unusual readings. So have a close look at that negative pole on the battery and make sure there is one and only connection to it, and that is to the battery side of the shunt, where nothing else is connected either.
