24/5000/120 Quattro AC1 input requires 100A breaker

Could someone please clarify why the Quattro manual suggests a 100A breaker on the AC1 input when the math says a 5000VA inverter can't exceed 42A at 120VAC? Thank you.

Because it can pass through up to 100A.

Thank you. So, if we're not exceeding 50A, then we are okay putting a smaller breaker in?
