MPPT Changing Battery Voltage

I heard a rumour that once a Victron MPPT has been used on one voltage say 24V, it can't be reused on 48V system later, without being factory reprogrammed. Is this correct, sounds bizarre! I only asked as I was thinking about using one on 24V temp lead acid until I can afford the 48V BYD Lithium. Thanks

It depends upon which exact model you are referring to. Let us know.

The smaller models are usually 12V and 24V only. One (or two) models are 48V only.
Most of the larger ones are 12V, 24V and 48V - no factory reprogramming needed.
However, you would want to connect it up to your computer anyway (or use the App. if it is a "Smart" model) to ensure that the settings are relevant to your battery setup.

It would be one of the larger models, either Smart Solar 150/45 or BlueSolar 150/45.

Thanks sounds like its a laptop job if BlueSolar. Thanks for clearing that up!
