What size mppt controller is best for my application

Hey Guys im stuck,

i am going to mount a 170w panel on my roof of my 4wd but also have a 160w flexipanel i will use occasinal when parked up. What mppt would best suit my needs and also what dcdc would suit that controller ?

It depends on if you are upgrading or will you keep to the two separate panels?

170W ÷ 12v = 14Amps max charging so a 75/15 smart mppt will do for each panel.

so i can run 170w permant on roof and than the 160w ontop of the 170 when at camp for a combined 350w of panels ? i wont be upgrading these panels

Yes, but note that @Alexandra recommended two controllers. The outputs from these would be wired in parallel.

Two panels on one 75/15 will not increase your PV yeild.

12v x 15A = 180W yeild on one charge controller.

The only time two panels on one charge controller would make sense would be in low irradiance conditions and you need more surface area to increase yeild.
