Which MPPT charge controller for 5 440 Watts panels (2200 watts total) ?

I've 5 LG 440Watts model LG440QAC Panels.And 14KW of 24V LifePO4 (can be charged to 0.5C).

Strangely the Victron calculator recommended the 250/70 model, however that would only output 70 Amps and would limit my output to 1680 watts. Don't know why it recommends this model.

Should I go with a 250/100 instead ? Or should I split into two 150/70 Ve.Can MPPT controllers ?

Thank you very much for your opinion,

Up to 8 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 190.8 MiB each and 286.6 MiB total.

It probably thought you are using a 48v system.
You can use 250/100 but you are actually very close the voltage limit at 241V. You could go over the max voltage at temperatures below 10C but this depends on your setup.

It is probably best to use a 150/70 and 250/70.

Thank you for your suggestion. Looks like that would be the best path.

I confirmed the data and ensured I've 24V marked but still goes only to 250/60 either I'm missing or three is a bug.

My bad. I had only 3 series panels selected at the top.

Hi @Charles Gomes

Try the calculator again with the correct V Temp Coeff (the one you used is wrong). This will change the options it offers markedly.

This is what I took from the LG44QAC Spec Sheet

Looks like I had the wrong decimal case, -0.02 instead of -0.29, however now it recommends a 250/60 controller. Just fixed. 250/60 would limit my output 24@60A = 1440 Watts.

I must be doing something really wrong.

Bear in mind too that the Wattage you get should be calculated at a typical charge V. Even in Victron's specs they'll use like 28.8V to determine a nominal max output.

And there may be a fudge factor in there too, to make allowances for real-world derating of panel efficiency. No point overspeccing an mppt if you'll never use it.
