Does someone have a good explanation for oscillating current with a BSC IP22?

Here are the pictures showing the end of the Bulk phase and beginning of Absorption. First the current drops to 1,6A, then suddenly the current switches between approx. 2,8A (ON phase) and 0A (charge switch off). Later in Absorption the ON-phases become shorter and the switch off-phases longer. This looks like a pulse width modulation to set an average current below 1,6A.

Is this normal?

At higher resolution at the beginning of current oscillation...

... and later during absorption phase.
