Use Grid supply when battery is depleted

Hi

I would like to know the best product to use for a system that can charge the batteries from Solar panels, and when the batteries are depleted below a particular level the system switches back to the grid connection, until the solar system provides enough charge to take over and supply from battery again. What would you guys suggest.

Take a look at Assistance, which can be configured through VE.Configure. If you do not have a MK3 adapter to connect the MultiPlus to a windows box, you can use VRM to pull the configuration down, edit it and push it back to the MultiPlus.

If you take a look at this discussion you will see what people have been doing to allow solar to be the main source, until a given SOC or load is applied and then allow shore power to be used.

Maybe I'm not quite getting the scenario but it seems like you are describing a Victron ESS system.

@Elvis one of the issues with ESS, is you need to be able to feed into the grid. If you are in island mode, ESS and the intelligence within it will not work.
