Load current Smartsolar MPPT 100/20

It seems the Smartsolar MPPT 100/20 have at the load output only1A with a 48V battery.

My question is: if I load the output more, what happens? Output switch off, limit to 1A or device damage??

Up to 8 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 190.8 MiB each and 286.6 MiB total.

In most cases it should just shut down.
The datasheet says it is short circuit protected but I guess if you do it over and over again it will fail at some point.
