Ve.Direct RS232 Protocol

Dear Sirs,

For communication between the PLC and your charger, I want to use RS232 communication. My system should work from midnight to 8 hours in the morning at full power. From 8 o'clock in the morning I want to disable the output of the load and after, for example, half an hour that it would automatically turn on the output of the load again. I need this to check the data of all systems that are connected to the PLC: a weather station, sensors ...and it will save energy because there is no need for work in this period of time.

I have 12 Siemens PLC systems. The proposed device is SmartSolar MPPT 75/15.

Is possible to set the timer on delay for the charger to turn off load output?

Best Regards,

Dragan Aleksov

I found this on the victron site, It may help

VE.DirectVE.Direct is a combination of what we used to call the HEX protocol and the BMV text protocol. It combines the advantages of both: in text-mode the products automatically transmit all important parameters every second. To implement code which reads and interprets this data is extremely simple. If more functionality is needed, such as changing settings, one can switch to the HEX protocol. Communication ports on new Victron products will always be either VE.Can or VE.Direct ports. The VE.Direct port is for products where a full Canbus connection adds to much cost. VE.Direct documentation is available on our website. Look for the VE.Direct Protocol document on: http://www.victronenergy.com/support-and-downloads/whitepapers/. And see also the VE.Direct FAQ: https://www.victronenergy.com/live/vedirect_protocol:faq.
