The manual says maximum gauge wire is 35mm2 or 2awg ? Send a little small for peak power 2400w ? The manual also doesn't have any info on wire fuse size? Do I fuse the wire with 200A (for 2400w) or 100A (for continuous 1200w) ? I emailed Victron North America distributor but did not get any response.
I am sorry your distributor did not get back to you! That is very dissapointing and something that i think you should make victron aware of!
Your inverter has a 200A internal fuse BUT you are required (where i live by law) to install a second fuse close to your battery. I would go for a 150 Amp fuse installed next to your battery on the positive. this should handle your short peaks fine. fuses take about a second to blow at 200% load.
1000W cont. power / 12V * 1,25 = 83,33A
83,33 * 1,25 = 104A, nearest fuse size could be 120A

Follow-up question. Shouldn't you be using 1/0 Awg on a continuous 150A load? is 2 awg the largest size that will fit into the 12/1200?
concerning the fuse calibration I always try to go to the lowest AMP possible. I would start with a 100A and see if it is working. I also always check weekly the temperature of the cbles, connections....The solar installations need a lot of maintenance and checking.
