Battery level

We have Quatro inverter on our boat, when hooked up to power I've been told to switch the inverter to Float, what I don't understand is why when we have been connected to power for the last 4 days are the batteries not at 100%?

Why would you switch to float manually, the internal charger has its own settings as to when it needs to change from bulk to absorption then to float, these set to suit the battery and if done correctly the NO manual intervention should be needed.

Guessing cos you're switching to float manually, instead of letting it switch itself. So it never gets to the point of recognising that the batteries have reached 100%
