How to eliminate tail current issue with smart solar

I have a smart solar mppt 100/20 on my panels , I’m about to add a BMV712

The system has a tail current of about 5 amps , ( the fridge on the boat ). If I add a bmv712 can the smart solar using VE.smart Bluetooth networking use the Bmv for to correct for this tail current as at the moment the solar gets confused and doesn’t end absorption mode.

Is there any special setup ? for this

thanks

You are using the wrong term there. The 'tail current' is the current that still flows into the battery after it has reached 100% SOC. The load of 5 amps caused by the fridge.. which you must assume can be running or not running randomly.. may or may not be part of the current that the BMV will see which might extend the absorption time.

However you can set the voltage limits and just have a fixed absorption time if that helps. What battery chemistry are we talking?
